Chicago based artist, Sam Arnold, uses mixed media and acrylic paint to create several series; mostly focusing on abstract renditions of landscapes and other flora and fauna. Sam always had a love for art and spent the first five years of her career as a high school art educator. Partly due to health issues, she left education in 2016 to start her own small business, Sam Lynn Studio, where she works as a full-time visual artist. Sam is passionate about exploring every media she can get her hands on. You’ll often find her working on multiple series at once, all visually distinct from one another. Sam is drawn to the subject of nature in part because it is so different from the urban environment that surrounds her and in part as a distraction from her physical pain caused by the aforementioned health issues. These imaginary landscapes act as a vacation for the artist, and she hopes these paintings create an escape for those who view her work.
Currently, my focus is intuitive painting where I have enjoyed letting the initial strokes dictate my next decision. I am working in a series style focusing on similar color palettes and abstract landscapes. I welcome commissions based on my current portfolio as well as venturing into different styles based on your vision.
